ISLAMABAD: Pakistan ranks 5th in Asia in mobile phone users as more than 100 million people are using mobile phones in the country.

The number of mobile phone users in the world has reached 5 billion. According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), 10 million new connections were issued domestically, a private tv news channel reported Wednesday.

According to statistics, the number of mobile phone users in Pakistan has reached 131 million.

Analysts say that the main reason behind the increasing number of mobile phone users is competitive tendency and lower calling charges.

On the other hand, IT experts say that use of mobile phone has brought changes in the living standards of common man that's why its demand is increasing day by day in the country.
