KARACHI, Oct 31: The Election Commission declared on Thursday that the Pakistan Muslim League-F candidate Pir Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashdi alias Yunus Sain elected from PS-30 Khairpur-II, rejecting the petition of Pir Syed Mohammad Bachchal Shah Jilani of Pakistan Muslim League-N.

Before announcing the decision the Election Commission bench heard both the sides.

The full bench of the Election Commission, which held its second day’s sitting on Thursday in Karachi at the Sindh High Court, had fixed cases relating to provincial assembly constituencies PS-30 Khairpur-II, PS-62 Tharparker-III and PS-103 Karachi-IV for Friday.

After hearing the petitioners and the respondents in two other cases, the Election Commission announced its decision, according to which from PS-62 Haji Arbab Haji Abdullah of the Sindh

Democratic Alliance and from PS-103 Mohammed Idrees Siddiqui of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were declared elected.

In the case of PS-83 Sanghar-VI, in which judgment was reserved on Wednesday, the EC ordered re-polling at polling station-35 on Nov 2.

In this constituency there were 13 candidates. The main contestants are Abdul Rahman Thaiem of the Pakistan People’s Party, Mahi Khan Wasan of the PML-F and Ghulam Sarwar of the PML-N.

For PS-118 Karachi XXX recounting of votes continued for the ninth day on Thursday.
