LAHORE, July 15: A special team of the Gulberg Town and the food squad of the City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) sealed a spurious drinks factory on Peco Road here on Friday.

Officials said the team led by Gulberg Town administrator Irfan Memon raided the drinks factory run by Ashraf near Pindi Stop (Peco Road).

“We have found and seized a huge number of spurious drink crates. We have sealed the factory and initiated legal action against the factory owner,” Town Officer (Regulation) Faisal Shehzad told Dawn.

He said the team also visited various hotels and collected food samples for laboratory test.

CLEAN-UP: Special teams of the CDGL on Friday removed encroachments and razed illegal structures in various localities of Allama Iqbal, Data Ganj Bakhsh, Nishtar and Samanabad towns.

Meanwhile, the LDA’s encroachment cell also removed illegal structures in several residential and commercial areas falling under its territorial jurisdiction, says a press release.

POLIO DRIVE: The CDGL will launch a three-day anti-polio drive from July 18 to 20.

The Lahore DCO will give a briefing to media persons on Saturday (today) in this regard, says a press release.
