KHAIRPUR, July 13: Six people were killed in different areas of the district on Wednesday.

Two brothers and their uncle were killed by gunmen and another three died in a clash between two groups of Odho community.

The two brothers and their uncle were shot dead when they were collecting soil on a tractor-trolley in the Razidero area.

They were later identified as Shaukat Ali Bhatti, Mehboob Ali Bhatti and Zahid Hulio, who was driving the tractor.

Police did not take the bodies to hospital for post-mortem due to a jurisdiction dispute between the Agra and Gambat police.

Relatives of the deceased carrying the bodies demonstrated near Lal Bux Bhatti village on Khairpur-Larkana road.

The protesters, including women, took the bodies on a tractor-trolley to Ranipur, held a demonstration on the National Highway near Sachal Gate and raised slogans against police.

Chairman of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz Basheer Khan Qureshi and his supporters joined the protesters.

Mr Qureshi blamed the government for death of innocent people in tribal feuds.

Vehicular traffic on the highway remained suspended for some time.

DPO of Khairpur Irfan Baloch and SP Investigation Ghulam Akbar Waggan assured the villagers that the killers would be arrested.

The protesters said that they would demonstrate on the National Highway again if killers were not arrested within 24 hours.

Later, they took the bodies to the village.

Police said the motive behind the killing could not be ascertained.

Another three men lost their lives in a clash between two groups of Odho community in Qalandar Bux Odho village in Faiz Mohammad Bindo area.

Police took the bodies to Rural Health Centre in Pir Jo Goth for post- mortem. The dead were identified as Shaman Odho, Barkat Jatoi and Ghous Bux Jatoi.

Police said a matrimonial dispute had sparked the clash.
