RAWALPINDI, July 11: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday arrested two employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for their alleged involvement in trafficking 5kg heroin to Toronto.

The employees were arrested after the Canadian authorities informed the airlines that they had seized an unattended baggage with a PIA flight PK-781 tag.

The flight left from the Benazir Bhutto International Airport last Friday. Five kilogram heroin was recovered from the unattended baggage. Dawn

Colonel Mohammad Riaz of the ANF told that Amir Mashood, who was posted as senior passenger officer at the international departure lounge, and a driver, Fida, have been taken into custody.

He said after the departmental inquiry, the airlines' authorities handed over the two employees to ANF for investigation.

Colonel Riaz said the authorities are also looking for two other employees – a loading in-charge and a security guard.

He said they would be arrested on Tuesday as they have been on leave these days.
