SHIKARUR, Oct 30: The chief organizer, Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Maqbool Ahmed Shaikh, and elder brother of Imtiaz Shaikh, the SDA chief, has refused to accept the election results on PS-11 (Shikarpur-III).

A candidate of the People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP), Agha Tariq Khan, won the election on PS-11. The National Alliance candidate, Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, was unsuccessful on PS-11.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday night, he alleged that the returning officer had changed the results so that the PPP candidate, Agha Tariq Khan Pathan, could be elected.

He said that the decision of the Election Commission would be challenged in the Supreme Court on the grounds that the Election Commission was not a judicial body but an administrative body which had no power to withhold results.

Meanwhile, a leader of the PML (Q) and MNA-elect from Shikarpur, Ghaus Bux Khan Mehar, has said the country has entered democratic process.

He was talking to newsmen the other day.

He expressed hope the formation of governments at the centre and provinces will be completed in the first week of November.
