Flour millers seek 5-year food policy

Published October 31, 2002

PESHAWAR, Oct 30: The NWFP Flour Mills Association has demanded that a food policy for the next five years should be announced to improve conditions of flour mills.

The demand was made at a meeting of the association held here on Wednesday. Association chairman Haji Niaz Ahmad presided.

The meeting expressed concern over the closure of flour mills and suggested that a five-year food policy would provide much-needed relief to industry.

It also adopted a resolution, asking the Wapda to extend the concession of fixed charges for the closed mills upto 2003.

It also urged the government to announce Ramazan Package.
