CHAKWAL, July 9: A man shot dead his sister over a marriage dispute here on Friday night. Police sources said that Ghulam Fatima, a resident of Choa Ganj Ali Shah recently settled in the city along with his son as her husband passed away six month ago. She married her daughter Muqeesa Naveed with Atif Shahzad without the consent of his elder brother Mohammad Akram.

On Friday night, Mohammad Akram invited his sister, his niece and her husband to dinner at his home. After the dinner, he took his sister to the roof of the house to discuss an important matter. After a while Mohammad Akram opened fire at her with pistol killing her on the spot.

As Atif, Muqeesa and other members of the family rushed to the roof, Mohammad Akram also shot at Atif who received the bullet at his leg.

He was rushed to the DHQ hospital. The police registered a case against Mohammad Akram who had fled the scene after the incident.
