KARACHI: The Sindh government on Tuesday imposed a ban on pillion-riding in Karachi. The ban will be imposed from midnight tonight under section 144.

The ban will remain effective for indefinite period, DawnNews reported.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh home department, the order will come into force from midnight tonight, July 5, 2011.

The ban will not be applicable on women, children below the age of 12 years, senior citizens, disabled persons, journalists, personnel of law enforcement agencies in uniform and employees of essential services.
