PESHAWAR, Oct 29: A camp was organized at Nathiagali by the Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine (Irnum), Peshawar, as part of the breast cancer awareness campaign.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the day-long free advisory medical camp was attended by a large number of women from villages and the town.

Nathiagali Nazim Khalilur Rehman, Councillor Babu Lal Khan and others welcomed the doctors’ team, appreciated their efforts and emphasized the need for creating awareness among the women about breast cancer.

The experts asked the women to do self-examination regularly and contact a doctor immediately in case of any cyst in the breast.

They urged the women not to be shy of going to the doctors and said the disease could be treated without operation. They said that the patients might lose their affected breast in case of delay in consulting doctors.

The doctors team comprised Irnum Director Dr Ayub Khan, Dr Safoora Shahid, Dr Yaqoob Khan, Dr Hussain, Dr Nasim Begum and Dr Nabeela.

About 50 women were examined by the experts and briefed about the disease, its timely remedy, precautions and treatment.
