KARACHI, July 1: As many as 170 boys reported on the first day of the Pakistan Hockey Federation’s (PHF) second U-16 Summer Hockey Coaching and Training Camp at the Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sports Academy (OISSA) here on Friday.

The players who have been provided kits free of cost by OISSA and hockey sticks by the PHF will also feature in a competition starting from July 10 following a programme where they will practice for three hours, six days a week learning fundamental skills such as passing and stopping or trapping the ball.

Chief coach Olympian Iftikhar Syed and his team of academy coaches, namely, Farrukh Saeed, Mohammad Arshad, Tipu Sultan, Asim Mumtaz, Nadeem Qureshi, Adil Askari and Mohammad Rashid divided the 170 players into 14 teams that have been further broken into two groups of seven teams each.
