38 probables for training camp

LAHORE, Nov 14: Thirty-eight probables have been called to attend the national football training camp which will begin at the Model Town ground here from Tuesday.

The camp is being set up to finalise two Pakistan teams i.e seniors and Under-23. The seniors team is to take part in the SAFF Gold Cup tournament to be held at Dhaka, Bangladesh from Jan 25 to Feb 4. The Under-23 team will participate in the SAF Games to be held at Islamabad in March-April.

The names of the probables were selected by the federation since no selection committee exists. The English coach John Layton was the one-man selection committee and after his departure to England due to security reasons in this region, the federation did not form any selection committee.

Siddique Sheikh and Akhtar Mohyuddin who had been working with John Layton as assistant coaches will be conducting the training camp.

Haroon Yousaf, Noman Ibrahim, Gohar Zaman, Asadullah, Amir Khan, Qadeer, Ashfaq, Asad (ABL), Jaffar Khan, Amir Shahzad, Mohammad Arif, Ehsanullah, Mohammad Riaz, Ghulam Ali, Zahoor, Shahbaz (Army), Sarfraz Rasool, Amer Riaz, Sajjad, Allah Nawaz (KRL), Saleem Shahzad (HBL), Ibrarullah, Mohammad Arshad (PAF), Atique-ur-Rehman (NWFP), Mohammad Essa (Balochistan), Nomi Martin Gill (Navy), Zaheer Abbas (Railways), Khuda Bux, Tanvir Ahmed, Bahadur Khan (Wapda), Zaheer Abbas (Railways), Adeel, Shahid Ahmed, Tahir Kiramat (PTCL), Shakir Taj (Sindh), Nasir Ahmad (PAF), Fareed Majeed, Naseer (KPT).
