MARDAN, June 25: Two brothers were gunned down while a woman and a minor sustained injuries during a clash between relatives over a petty issue in the Bala Gari area of Shahbaz Gari village on Saturday.

Quoting Mushtari Sultana, the mother of the slain brothers, the officials of Shahbaz Gari police station said her nephews Jamal and Iqbal shot dead her two sons identified as Amjid Iqbal and Sajjad Nasir after exchange of hot words over a minor issue.

She told police that Jamal took away car of a guest identified as Ihsanullah who visited her home, but didn't return the vehicle as per the promise. She said when Jamal came late with the vehicle Ihasanullah started quarreling with him.

She said she along with her sons Amjid Iqbal, Sajjad Nasir and Ijaz went to Jamal's home to settle the dispute but Jamal and his brother Iqbal opened fire killing her two sons on the spot.

Police lodged an FIR against the accused Iqbal and Jamal on the complaint of Mushtari Sultana.

However, Sikandar Jamal, brother of the accused, also registered an FIR against the deceased Amjid Iqbal, Sajjad Nasir and their brother Ijaz for allegedly injuring his sister-in-law and a minor in an exchange of fire during the incident.
