Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 28: Seven ships are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, the Karachi Port Trust sources said on Monday.

They are: Challenge Express, Bador, Sinar Bontang, Al Mariyah, APL Cairo, Kota Berani and Fauna-F.

Three ships were berthed on Monday which were Heluan, Emirates Star and Babur Kaptan. Six ships, Jamila, Bunga Kenari, Ocean Luna, Gertrude, Oldendroff, Johar and Nikolas sailed out while another four ships, Dainty River, Izumo, Kota Waris and Banglar Kallol are expected to leave the port on Tuesday. The berth occupancy remained modest at 33 and 48 per cent at both the oil piers and dry wharves, respectively.

A cargo volume of 75,186 tons comprising 63,821 tons of import tonnage and 11,365 tons of export cargo was handled.
