QUETTA, Oct 27: The Balochistan National Movement (BNM) has announced to continue its protest against the reversal of the result of the PB-48 Kech-I constituency in favour of the defeated candidate of the National Alliance.

The senior vice-president of the BNM, Dr Abdul Malik, stated this while speaking on Sunday at a press conference along with MPA-elect Jan Mohammed Buladi, central leader Aslam Buladi and BSO chairman Qadoos Nadir.

He said that Dr Yasin Baloch was elected from Kech-I and the Election Commission had announced him successful but after three days the result was changed by tampering the votes and the defeated candidate of the National Alliance, Syed Ehsan Shah, was declared MPA-elect from PB-48 Kech-I.

“It is a shameful post-election rigging,” Mr Malik remarked, adding that 633 votes polled in favour of Mr Baloch were declared invalid by the returning officer during the re-counting, saying that they were found double stamped.

Mr Malik said that the presiding officers of four polling stations had found not a single double stamped vote during the first counting.

He alleged that the votes polled in favour of the BNM candidate were double stamped officially in the presence of concerned returning officer, as the bags were found unsealed when brought for the recounting.

The Balochistan National Movement leader announced that if the decision of the returning officer was not changed and Mr Baloch was not declared MPA-elect the party would launch protest movement in the province with the support of other parties.
