KARACHI, June 22: A young watchman was shot dead in a Malir area on Wednesday, police said.

They said that 35-year-old Qasim Magsi was shot twice when he was returning home after spending duty hours in the morning.

“The incident occurred near Gulshan-i-Ghazali in Malir,” said an official at the Al-Falah police station.

“The victim was a resident of Landhi and worked as watchman in Al-Falah. His body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.”

He said that initial interaction with the victim’s family suggested that they had disputes within their family for decades and they suspected some of their relatives to be behind the incident.

In Qasba Colony, police found the bullet-riddled body of a young man. The area police said the body wrapped in cloth was found near Shahzad Mor within the remit of the Pirabad police station.

“The victim seemed to be in his mid 30s,” said a police official. “His hands and legs were tied with rope while he was shot thrice in the chest, head and abdomen.”

The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue after medico-legal formalities at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for want of identification.
