Khasadars held

LANDI KOTAL, June 15: The political administration on Wednesday arrested at least 12 personnel of Khasadar Force in Khyber Agency for their alleged failure to ensure security to oil tankers supplying fuel to Nato forces in Afghanistan.

Officials said that the issue of attacks on Nato oil tankers would be thoroughly investigated. The khasadars would be taken to task if charges of negligence were proved against them, they added.

At least 45 oil tankers had been destroyed by militants near Torkham border during the last one month. “A thorough investigation will be conducted and disciplinary action would be taken against khasadars for their negligence,” officials said. —Correspondent
