QUETTA, June 13: One person was killed and another injured in a bomb blast here on Monday.

“The bomb was planted in a bicycle parked near the wall of National Accountability Bureau building on Major Mohammad Road,” police said.

According to sources, the bomb went off when a flock of sheep was passing through the area. Two men carrying the flock were injured and a number of sheep killed.

The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital, where one of them, identified as Ziaul Haq Mari, died.

A portion of the NAB building's wall was damaged and windows of a number of nearby houses and buildings were smashed.

Security personnel cordoned off the area and suspended traffic.

“It was not known who the target was,” a senior security official told Dawn.

The Quetta Cantonment was sealed off after the blast and additional troops were posted at all entry points. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast.
