LAHORE, June 1: Rain coupled with thunderstorm on Wednesday proved to be a blessing for Lahorites who thronged public parks in the evening.

Weather in Lahore is likely to remain partly cloudy with chances of dust/thundershower on Thursday, according to the Meteorological Department.

It recorded maximum temperature at 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum 22 degrees Celsius with 9.1mm rain till late in the evening on Wednesday.

It said that seasonal low continued to lie over Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending southeast ward. Western disturbance has been approaching central and upper parts of the country and may persist for next 48 hours, causing dust thunderstorm/rain at isolated places of central and upper Punjab during next 24 to 48 hours; dust thunderstorm/rain at isolated places of upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during next 24 hours.

However, it predicted very hot and dry weather in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan during the next few days.

Maximum temperature recorded in other cities, Islamabad 33 C, Karachi 35 C, Peshawar 37 C, Quetta 33 C and Muzaffarabad 32 C. The highest maximum temperature was recorded 47 C in Padidan.
