HYDERABAD, May 16: A large number of activists of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum marched from Sindh University old campus to the press club here on Monday to voice protest against murder of two of their colleagues in Karachi.

The march was led by chairman of the forum, Mohammad Ali Shah, and other leaders and fishermen from Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Sanghar and Umerkot took part in the protest.

Addressing the marchers, the forum leaders alleged that their leaders Abdul Ghani and Haji Abu Bakar who had waged a relentless struggle for saving forests were killed by land mafia.

They demanded immediate arrest of the murderers. OATH-TAKING:

MQM MNA Tayyab Hussain has said that people's problems have multiplied in absence of district government.

He expressed concern that chakki owners of Hyderabad were not being supplied adequate quantity of wheat to cater to flour needs of over 2 million people of the city.

Administering oath to newly-elected office-bearers of the Atta Chakki Owners Social Welfare Association at the press club on Sunday, the MNA said he would raise the issue on the floor of the National Assembly.

District Food Controller Salahuddin Shaikh admitted some excesses had been committed against chakki owners of Hyderabad in the past and assured that all Chakkis would be included in the Ramzan package this year.
