DADU, Oct 21: A large number of residents of the Jhallo village staged a protest demonstration against the SHO, Jhallo police station, Dost Mohammad Soomro, carrying the body of a man, Mohammad Ramzan Chhajro, on Sunday night.

They held a protest in front of the DPO and the DCO house and blocked the Indus Highway for two hours. They were led by Nazeer Ahmed Chhajro and Ghulam Shabbir Chhajro.

They demanded the removal of the SHO and the arrest of all the accused.

Addressing the demonstrators, Mr Nazeer said that nine Kori tribesmen including Hakim, Mohammad Nawaz, Ghulam Mohammad, Sikandar, Gul Mohammad, Ghulam Shabbir, Amir Bux and two others had attacked and killed Mohammad Ramzan in the Jhallo village.

He said that when the villagers went to the Jhallo police to have a case lodged against the killers of Mohammad Ramzan, the SHO refused to register a case against them because they were influential people.

On the directives of the TPO, Dadu, a murder case was registered against the nine accused at the Jhallo police station and the SHO was suspended.

KILLED: A man, Mushtaq Shah, was crushed to death under the wheels of a Peshawar-bound coach while he was trying to cross the Indus Highway, near Mehar town, on Monday.

The driver of the coach escaped immediately.

KACHHO AREAS: Elected PPP MNA from NA-231 (Dadu-I) Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur and MPA from PS-73 (Sehwan), Syed Murad Ali Shah, have said that Kohistan and Kachho areas were facing a drought-like condition since the last seven years and the inhabitants of these areas were facing difficulties.

While talking to newsmen at the press club, they said that the majority of the people had left their houses in search of food and water but they would be rehabilitated by being provided jobs in the private and public sectors.

They said that they would struggle to provide civic amenities-related development schemes.
