Susi was a beautiful fish who lived in the depths of Pacific Ocean. Her home was in a big mountain rock. She lived with her mother, father and her granny.

One day she was playing in a park near to her home. She saw a fish enter the park. The fish was black coloured with yellow spots on her body. Susi was not happy seeing an ugly fish in the park full of beautiful flowers. She said to the black fish, “Hey, ugly thing! What do you think you are doing here?”

The fish was surprised by her new name but she answered, “Yes, of course. I am here to play like everyone else.”

“Well, then you must leave the park at once, or the beautiful flowers will be hurt by seeing such an ugly fish coming in their home,” Susi said cheekily.

The fish was very hurt by what Susi said and started crying. She then ran out of the park. Susi again started playing when she heard a sound behind her, and on turning back she saw the monstrous figure of a shark.

“Hmm! Yummy! What a tasty dinner for today!” said the shark and imprisoned her in a box.

The black fish who was sitting outside the park crying, heard the shrieks of Susi. She was surprised to hear Susi shouting. She took a quick look in the park by a hole in the wall and saw that Susi was captured by the shark. She at once fled home and told her father about Susi.

Her father took three grown-up fishes with him and went to rescue Susi. When they got into the park, they saw that the shark was heating a pot. They rushed towards the shark and starting fighting with it. The shark fought back for some time but soon got frightened and ran away.

“Save me from the shark!” said Susi in a weak voice and opened her eyes. She saw the black fish with some other grown up fishes.

“Thank goodness that you are alive. You were captured by the shark when our daughter, Binky, told us about you,” said Binky’s father.

Hearing this Susi felt very ashamed that she had thought that Binky was ugly and had been so rude to her.

“I am sorry about calling you ugly. I am very sorry. Please, forgive me.”

“Oh! Just leave it. It’s all right. All of us tend to get impressed by pretty things but we must never forget that what is inside is more important. We will both be friends now,” Binky said smiling.
