KARACHI, May 10: Top seed Hassan Siddiqui and second seed Malik Hamza stormed into the boys’ under-16 singles final of fourth and last leg — Masters — of the STA Satellite Circuit tennis tournament at the Beach View Club on Tuesday.

Hassan, who got a bye in the first round, routed Marib Malik 6-3, 6-3 after the latter who was among top eight, was inducted to raise the number of players from six to seven.

Hamza, who disposed of Nazif Ahmed 6-1, 6-4 in the first round, carved out a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Murad Khan.

As for the boys’ and girls’ under-14 event, top seed Hassan Farooq swept aside Maheen Dada 6-3, 6-0 to book a berth in the final. The former got a bye in the first round while the latter got a walkover against Khizer Imran Loya who too was given a chance.

The event concludes on Wednesday.

Results: Boys’ and girls’ under-14 singles: First round: Marib Malik bt M. Raza Sawani 6-1, 7-5; Maheen Dada bt Khizer Imran Lohya — walkover.

Semi-final: Hassan Farooq bt Maheen Dada 6-3, 6-0.

Boys’ under-16 singles: Semi-final: Malik Hamza bt Murad Khan 6-4, 6-2; Hassan Siddiqui bt Marib Malik 6-3, 6-3.

Monday’s results: Boys’ under-16 singles: First round Marib Malik bt Saud Shoaib 6-4, 6-4; Murad Khan bt Aqeel Khan 6-3, 6-3; Malik Hamza bt Nazif Ahmed 6-1, 6-4.
