LAHORE: Faisalabad beat Lahore 5-2 to win the final of the third PHF Junior Super Hockey League at the National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.

Faisalabad led the first half 1-0.

The scorers for the winners were Bilal Qadir (3rd minute), Dilber Hussain (23rd min), Waseem Abbas (57th) and Mohammad Riwan (68th and 70th).

For the losing side, Mohammad Fahad (52nd) and Arsalan Sherazi (64th) reduced the margin.

Multan earned a 7-6 win over penalty shoot-outs to gain third place.

Faisalabad received Rs600,000 for winning the trophy while Lahore earned Rs400,000 and Multan pocketed Rs300,000.

Bilal Qadir of Faisalabad was named the best player of the league and honoured with a cash prize of Rs25,000.

Meanwhile, the national selection committee, led by Hanif Khan, has selected following players from the league to attend a training camp in Islamabad from May 14.

A team from the camp will be picked to represent the country in the under-19 Asia Cup to be held in Singapore from June 17 to 26.

Forwards: Rana Umair, Suleman, Dilber Hussain, M. Adnan, Hafiz Rizwan, Arsalan Sherazi, Bilal Qadir, Asad, Hafiz Umar Sardar, Zohaib Khan, Khurram Shahzad, Kareem Khan, Qazi Asfand, Arslan Qadir, Ali Shan and Mohammad Irfan.
