TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 13: Residents of various localities of the city have complained about the low pressure of Sui gas, specially in the morning.

When contacted, a Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) officer said on Tuesday that the consumers themselves were responsible for the low pressure. “The consumers mention in the application forms while getting a connection that they need gas only for one cooking burner but later they install geysers and heaters. This results in low pressure.”

He said that there were about 10,000 gas connection from Toba gas station. “At present, 35 to 45 pounds pressure gas is supplied but in winter it is increased to 75 pounds.”

He said that the SNGPL will increase the pressure to 100 pounds during Ramazan.

WALKOUT: The opposition walked out of the Gojra Tehsil Council meeting on Tuesday over the constitution of house sub-committees.

Earlier, opposition members Chaudhry Mazhar Qayyum Chatha, advocates Azhar Hussain Massana and Shahid Abbas, Rana Munawwar Hussain and others said that the ruling group was ignoring them in various matters.

Naib Nazim Imtiaz Ashraf presided over the meeting.

The opposition members said that 14 sub-committees of the house were constituted without consulting the opposition.

The ruling group councillors said the opposition members were criticizing them without any justification.

Later, the house elected the sub-committees members and the opposition joined the meeting.
