KARACHI, April 24: A serious traffic gridlock was witnessed on the signal-free traffic corridor on Rashid Minhas Road on Sunday evening, when people protested over a Saturday night raid at their settlements located behind the Aladin Park and subsequent arrests by Rangers.

A duty officer of the Aziz Bhatti police station said that the Rangers had carried out arrests at the Katchi Para located near Aladin Park in the early hours of Sunday.

Residents took to the main road and blockaded it in front of the park.

Subsequently, a traffic jam was witnessed on the signal-free corridor. Motorists had to wait for hours as police officials persuaded the protesters to disperse peacefully.
