SARGODHA, April 18: Five members of a family were axed to death in 48-SB village in Atta Shaheed police precincts early on Monday morning, police said.

Mian Khan told the police that unknown armed men forced their entry into his house and axed his mother Nooran, 50, father Ghulam Rasool, 55, brother Gul Zaman, 3, and sisters Nazia, 13, and Rahila, 8. He said his brother, Heera, was unconscious and admitted to hospital.

Khan told the police that he arrived home on Monday morning and found his family members murdered.

The police said the incident seemed to be the result of an enmity, as the killers fled after the incident without taking anything from the house. — Correspondent
