KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has launched an online management course on Tuberculosis for family physicians of the country.

DUHS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Masood Hameed Khan on the occasion said the course is designed to provide online training to the doctors and medical students through the university’s web site.

“The advantage of this online course is that any doctor from anywhere, by visiting DUHS web site, can update his or her knowledge regarding the management of tuberculosis,” said Prof Masood Hameed Khan.

“This will also make a ready reference easily accessible to them from any place and at any time,” he added.

The DUHS Vice Chancellor said on the occasion also highlighted the importance of continuing medical education and refresher courses on common diseases for doctors serving the community at gross root level.

Dr.Iftikhar Ahmed, Director, Ojha institute of Chest Diseases in his welcome address thanked the participants of the two day course.

He expressed his satisfaction that PMDC registered medical practitioners from all over the city were participating in the training program.

The two day online certificate course, he said was the fourth certificate course on tuberculosis initiated by DUHS.

Dr. Iftikhar, a senior chest physician said DUHS, since its inception has taken series of measures for promotion of health related knowledge and medical sciences among general public and professionals respectively.
