ISLAMABAD, April 5: Rastay - an NGO displayed contemporary art works of 150 artists at the National Art Gallery (NAG) here on Tuesday to initiate dialogue with citizens to eliminate prejudices and create space for pluralism.

The show portrays contemporary styles of works by the artists from all over Pakistan and abroad.The exhibition titled 'United—in the Age of Dialogue', explores the ingenious process through the medium of art featuring a medley of artwork by meritorious Pakistani artists.

It focuses on the vital theme of initiating dialogue in an age of clash of civilizations and enhancing pluralism through the art discourse.

According to the organisers, the exhibition aims at eradicating invisibility to provide a platform for the artists and make visible the outstanding works of numerous Pakistani artists who strive to achieve a presence in an often marginalised society.

The four-day exhibition features wide collection of authentic artworks in the mediums of paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture and photography while it also traces the evolution of subject matter from the specific context of diversification in the range of human conditions, the cultural history and expanding social issues.The emphasis to dialogue is strengthened by art and medium that serves as a catalyst in resolving conflicts, creating avenues to advocate one's own views peacefully to empower social harmony by constructing spaces for manifestation of art and explore cultural diversity to promote and encourage civil participation in addressing challenges that continue to plague the nation.

'Rastay,' is a non-political, non-partisan, non-religious and non-profit organisation operating from Islamabad and serves as a forum to promote and encourage the government and civil society through art and cultural forums. — APP
