House looted in Pindi

RAWALPINDI, April 3: Five gunmen forced their way into the house of a director education in Gulzar-i-Quaid in broad daylight on Sunday and took away cash, gold ornaments and cellphones, police sources said.

Azmat Hayat Malik, director education Punjab said in his complaint that five unidentified persons entered into his house in his absence and held his family hostage at gunpoint.

He said he was away from the house when he was informed about the incident. He rushed to the house and found his family in grip of fear. He said the gunmen took away Rs150,000, three cell phones and gold ornaments after locking the women and children in a room. He said, “The gunmen held the family at gunpoint and forced them to hand over the cash and valuables. However, they did not harm anybody and left the house with cash and gold ornaments.” —Staff Reporter Arms seized

ATTOCK, April 3: A person was arrested in a bid to smuggle arm by the Fatehjang Police here on Sunday. Police sources said that on a tip off, the police with the assistance of Elite force intercepted a car near Hattar village on Kohat-Pindi road. On search, the police recovered a Kalashnikov, a 9-mm pistol, a 30-bore pistol, a 12-bore rifle and bullets from the vehicle and arrested driver Kamran Ali.

A case was registered against Kamran Ali for possessing illegal arms. However, in the preliminary investigation, the police revealed that the accused was bringing the said arms for the aerial firing at a marriage ceremony in Hattar village, sources added. — Correspondent PO arrested

ATTOCK, April 3: A proclaimed offender (PO) wanted in a kidnapping for ransom case was arrested by Injra police on Sunday.

Police said the police team arrested Mohammad Yousaf, resident of Jand. The accused had abducted Gul Hassan in July last year and released him after taking ransom. — Correspondent Prep class admission schedule

ISLAMABAD, April 3: The admission forms for nursery classes in all educational institutions of the federal capital will be issued from Monday. The classes will start from May 2.

According to Federal Directorate of Education, admission forms will be available from April 4 to April 14. Examination test will be held on April 21 and list of the successful candidates will be displayed on April 26. Eligible candidate's age should be above 4 years and below 5 years on March 31. — APP

SSC exams from tomorrow ISLAMABAD, April 3: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination under FBISE would start from Tuesday.

As per details, the matric exams under FBISE are going to be started from April 5 while roll number slips have been dispatched to the candidates at address mentioned in the admission forms. — Online
