HYDERABAD, Oct 14: The general body of the Sindh University Teachers Association (SUTA), at a meeting held here on Monday, rejected the Model University Ordinance.

It also announced to boycott regular teaching session from 10am onwards on Monday and Thursday as per the decision of the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations (FAPUASA).

After deliberation, the meeting observed the Ordinance precluded representation of teachers on various bodies of universities which, it said, would render functions of these statutory bodies ineffective and create problems for smooth running of the universities.

It resolved the president, vice-president and secretary of the SUTA would coordinate with the FAPUASA and submit the point of view of university teachers of Sindh to the Federation.
