KARACHI, March 28: A man and woman were found slaughtered in the Surjani Town area on Monday, police said.

They said the bodies of the two victims, both in their mid-20s, were found in the bushes along the Hub River Road.

“Some area people informed the police about the presence of the bodies, which were later removed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital,” said Inspector Musaddiq Rafiq, SHO of the Surjani Town police station.

“The bodies were found at a desolate place along the road leading to the Hub dam. A medical examination suggests that they were killed at least 12 hours before their bodies were found. There were deep marks of cuts on their throats inflicted with some blunt object.”

The woman was wearing a light black shalwar-kameez and the man an off-white shalwar-kameez, he said, adding that the residents of nearby localities could not recognise the victims.

“We believe that the victims were killed somewhere else and their bodies were thrown at this abandoned place later.” The SHO said that the bodies were shifted to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth after the medico legal examination.

Separately, a real estate agent was gunned down in the Mowachh Goth area on Monday.

The area police said that the 43-year-old man, Asghar Ali Attari, was driving home in his car, bearing registration number ADY-682, when he was attacked by two men riding a motorbike.

“The victim was attacked near Suparco Road close to Mowachh Goth. He was a resident of Baldia Town and had an estate agency in the Mowachh Goth area,” said an official at the Mauripur police station.

He said the victim was associated with a religious group, Da’awat-i-Islami, but the motive behind his killing seemed to be some issues related to his profession.
