KHAIRPUR, Oct 13: The People’s Party Parliamentarians defeated candidate from NA-216, Syed Javed Ali Shah, has alleged that the Sindh governor has been involved in electioneering against the PPP candidates throughout Khairpur district.

Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, he said that it was not a contest between him and Pakistan Muslim League (F) candidate Syed Sadruddin Shah, but a contest between him and Governor Mohammedmian Soomro.

He alleged that his 18 polling agents and three vehicles were taken away by his rival candidate and they were not allowed to reach the polling stations in Nara area by the PML(F) workers.

Shah said that the results of 24 polling stations in his constituency were changed to favour the PML (F) candidate.

He said that many PPP workers were injured and admitted to different hospitals.

He alleged that the police assisted the PML (F) candidates in Kingri taluka particularly and took away ballot boxes from many polling stations.

The PPP candidate said that his party would adopt legal procedures to challenge the election result.—Correspondent
