THATTA, Oct 13: The police on Saturday booked nine PPP workers, including a member of the Mirpur Bathoro union council, on charges of clashing with the Shirazi group workers on the election day.

Two of the accused — Mir Murad Zaur and his brother Ahmed — have been arrested and the police is raiding to arrest Madad Ali, Mukhtiar Ali, Abdul Ghani Zaur, and others.

The police are acting on a complaint filed by the Shirazi group activists.

In another incident, Ahmed alias Abu Soho, Basheer Lashari, Amoon Lashari and Jumoon Lashari have been booked on a complaint lodged by Muhammad Hassan Samejo for creating law and order situation during the election.

Meanwhile, the court of the additional session judge, Thatta, has granted bail to the six out of 150 persons nominated in an FIR, lodged by SHO Mirpur Bathoro.

The FIR was lodged some three days before the polls following a clash between the PPP workers and supporters of the Shirazi group in Mirpur Bathoro town.—Correspondent
