MMA bags all seats in Swat

MINGORA, Oct 12: The Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal defeated all the opponent parties with a clear majority on the two National Assembly and seven provincial assembly seats in Swat district.

NA-29, Swat-I: Qari Abdul Bais of the MMA bagged 65,151 votes, defeating Adnan Aurangzeb of the PML-Q who got 17,814. Shamsher Ali Khan of PPP received 5,872 votes, PTI chief Imran Khan 6,036 and Azeem Khan of National Alliance received 1,925 votes.

The total registered votes in this constituency are 314,521, of which 99,236 were polled. The turnout remained 51.55 per cent.

NA-30, Swat-II: Maulana Fazal Subhan of the MMA got 63,085 votes and defeated Haji Shujaat Ali Khan of the PML-Q, who got 13,852 votes. Salimur Rehman of the PPP got 9,973 votes, Shaukat Ali of the Pakistan Awami Party got 2,435, Mohammad Mukhtiar Khan Yousufzai of Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party got 2,051 and PTI’s Sahibzada Liaquat Ali Khan obtained 817 votes. Of the total 95,007 votes polled, 2,794 were rejected. The turnout remained 30.10pc.

PF-80, Swat-I: Mohammad Amin of the MMA won by securing 15,348 votes against Fazal Rehman Nono of the PPP (Sherpao) who polled 5,385 votes. ANP’s Wajid Ali Khan bagged 4,751 votes, Prof Sher Afgan Kaka of the PTI received 1,363, Qavi Khan of the PML-N got 1,052 and PAP’s Naseem Gul got 104 votes.

PF-81, Swat-II: Maulana Nizamuddin of the MMA was declared successful with 15,586 votes. Former provincial minister Asfandyar Amir Zeb of the PML-Q got 7,197 votes, Javaid Iqbal of the PPP 2,021, Inayatullah Khan of PTI received 1,665, Qasim Jan of PML-N got 554 and Said Rahim Shah of NA secured 481 votes.

PF-82, Swat-III: MMA’s Maulana Irfanullah bagged 10,864 votes, defeating Waqar Ahmad Khan of the ANP, who got 7,311 votes. Mehmood Ali Shah of the PML-Q secured 4,498 votes, Shaukat Hayat of the PTI received 1,140, Khurshid Alam of PML(N) bagged 460 and Mohammad Yameen (independent) got 238 votes.

PF-83, Swat-IV: Hussain Ahmad Kanju of the MMA secured 10,512 votes, defeating Barkat Ali Khan of the PML-Q, who got 4,925 votes. ANP’s Shamsher Ali Khan got 4,109 votes, Faridoon Khan of the PML-N 2,142, PPP’s Kamal Khan Shamakhel 1,521, Hameedullah Khan (independent) 935 votes, PTI’s Saeed Khan 71, Bahram Khan of PMAP 223 and Nadir Khan of PAP got 279 votes.

PF-84, Swat-V: MMA’s Qari Mehmood won by getting 16,465 votes. His rival, Abdul Ghaffar Khan of Pakhtoonkhwa Qaumi Party, secured 4,144 votes.

PF-85, Swat-VI: Malik Amirzada of the MMA received 10,951 votes and ANP’s Nisar Ahmad Khan, got 5,200 votes.

PF-86, Swat-VII: Mufti Hussain Ahmad of the MMA won by bagging 12,444 votes.
