LAHORE, March 15: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in collaboration with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Tuesday claimed to have busted an illegal gateway exchange in Gulberg.

A team, headed by anti-cyber crime wing deputy director Sajid Akram, raided the illegal gateway and arrested two employees, Kamran Shahzad and Mohammad Ali, while owner Aamir Zaman was not present there.

The exchange was causing a loss of Rs12 million annually to the exchequer.

The FIA also seized equipment, including three patch panel, five tellular gateways, 32 tellular single devices, two link switches and computers.

HUMAN SMUGGLER: The FIA claims to have arrested the “most wanted” human smuggler from Hafizabad.

Muhammad Ashraf would charge Rs400,000 each for arranging their travel to South Africa.

The agency during a week or so has arrested eight human smugglers involved in sending people to South Africa.
