PESHAWAR, Oct 11: Teams of international observers monitoring general elections visited several polling stations in various districts of NWFP throughout the day on Thursday.

Teams of observers belonging to Commonwealth Observer Group were seen paying visits to polling stations at Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera and Peshawar.

Joel Kibazo, a member of the group, when approached by the newsmen at a Mardan polling station for comment said: “we are not supposed to offer comments before submitting our report”.

Mr Kibazo, from Uganda, said that the observers’ teams would keep monitoring the elections till the results were declared.

He said: “We are on the job since 7:30 and would continue till the declaration of the results”.

Personnel of law enforcement agencies including the army were escorting international observers’ teams during their visit to the polling stations across the Frontier province.
