THATTA, March 12: An FIR has been registered against a former SHO and two policemen of Mirpur Bathoro police station on the charge of keeping a disabled labourer in wrongful confinement for about two months. The FIR was lodged on Saturday under sections 342 and 344 of the Pakistan Penal Code by SHO of Mirpur Bathoro police station Nooruddin Brohi on behalf of state under instructions of DPO Thatta Fida Hussain Mastoi.

Former SHO Aslam Ghuggo, head constable Wali Mallah and constable Shafqat Hussain were nominated in the FIR.

Police were reportedly conducting raids to arrest other accused who were absconding.

On the order of Thatta District and Sessions Court, Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate of Mirpur Bathoro Shakeel Molani had conducted a raid and recovered disabled labourer Subhan Brohi from a residential quarter of the police station.

The DPO suspended the SHO concerned and the two policemen and ordered them to report at Thatta police lines.
