JHANG, Oct 10: The cousin of PAT chief Allama Tahirul Qadri was injured after a scuffle with the supporters of rival party when he tried to forcibly enter a polling station.

Qudratullah whipped out a pistol and resorted to aerial firing when supporters of the SSP resisted his bid to enter the polling station at Girls Elementary School, Hasnana. They overpowered and injured him. Two SSP supporters Faisal and Naseer were also injured in the scuffle. Qudratullah was handed over to the Kotwali police.

Meanwhile, PAT’s supporters shot at and injured their rival party supporters Iqbal and Irfan at polling station in Government Girls Elementary School, Basti Dewanwali. The injured had raised slogans against the PAT chief. They were admitted to Jhang DHQ Hospital.

At least 29 people were taken into custody from different polling stations on suspicion of creating law and order situation.
