ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh met with the new US special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Marc Grossman at his office and urged the US for a timely provision of coalition support funds to Pakistan.

Talking to media after the meeting Marc Grossman said that the US will make certain the provision of Coalition support funds come through.

Pakistan has to receive $2.5 billion from the coalition support fund. This year the allocated amount is $1.4 billion from the fund but Pakistan has so far recieved only $630 million.

Lack of funds is the major cause of pressure on Paksitan’s economy.
