Floating across the stage

Published March 2, 2011

Pakistan's classical dancer Sheema Kirmani performs with  her co-artists  from Therik-e-Niswan – theatre and dance group during an art performance,  celebrating 100 years of International Women's Day in Islamabad, Pakistan. Floating across the stage with exquisite delicacy on the composition 'Raks Karo', Sheema Kirmani seemed to embody the natural grace. The performances carried powerful messages of gender equality and a demand for change in attitudes.–Photos by AFP & APP
