First-half goals from Malaysia's Kecik and Mohammad Irfan were enough to see off Pakistan in the first leg of their 2012 Olympics Asian Qualifier preliminary round at the Shah Alam Stadium on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The match started off at a brisk pace and even saw Pakistan's Ansar Abbas sent off in the dying moment of the first-half.

Malaysia pressed early on and were rewarded and could have added to their two-goal-tally had it not been for a surprising change in goal (Yousuf Butt swapped for Muhammad Omer) by Pakistan that eventually proved beneficial for the visitors.

The return leg of the Pakistan-Malaysia tie will be played in Lahore on March 9.
