KARACHI, Feb 10: A 29-year-old man, who was granted bail in an armed robbery case, was shot dead and his friend wounded in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Thursday, police said. The police added Mohammad Nadim alias Ganja and his friend Salman Ahmed were passing through block 19 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar on a motorbike when two armed men intercepted them near Jauhar Morr within the remit of the Sharea Faisal police station.

“Both the attackers were wearing helmets,” said DSP Ramzan Gopang, the area's supervisory police officer. He added that after getting close to their motorbike, one of the armed men opened fire on them. “The bullets hit Nadim in the head and Salman in the back. Nadim died on the spot and Salman was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.” Both the attackers escaped.

He said Nadim alias Ganja was not associated with any political party.
