MITHI, Feb 7: Thirteen people died in two separate accidents in Tharparkar and Dadu districts on Monday.

Nine people were killed and 45 others injured when an overloaded passenger bus overturned near Alamsar village.

The bus was going to Bhakua from Mithi. Witnesses said that a number of passengers were traveling on its roof also.

Five of the deceased were identified as Umedo Meghwar, Salma Charo, Bhagchand Meghwar, Aado Meghwar and Ramchand Meghwar. Bodies of four victims remained unidentified.

Those injured, including three women, were taken to Civil Hospital Mithi. Six of them are said to be in serious condition.

Our Dadu Correspondent adds: Four people died and five others were injured when a van and a car collided on Indus highway near Amri.

The deceased included Zahid Ali Jatoi, Abdul Karim Chachar, Khan Mohammad Jamali and a 40-year-old woman whose name could not be ascertained.

Those injured included Hina Fatima, Nasreen, Mansoor, Zulifiqar and Nabeel, 2, son of Khan Mohammad.

Ashfaq, in-charge, Edhi centre, Sehwan, said that the bodies and those injured were taken to a Sann hospital from where Hina was referred to Liaquat University Hospital, Jamshoro, due to her critical condition.

He said that the bodies were sent to the native towns of the deceased.
