KARACHI, Feb 2: The body of a young man stuffed in a suitcase was found on Mauripur Road, police said. They said that the suspicious suitcase was lying abandoned on Mauripur Road and it was first spotted by some transporters. They approached a nearby roadside restaurant and shared the information with people there. “Finally, the police were informed about it and they reached the spot, opened the suitcase and found the body of a young man,” said an official at the Mauripur police station.

“The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem examination. The man was found to have been slaughtered.”

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Ghulam Hussain, a resident of Bismillah Colony in Mowach Goth, who had left home on Tuesday evening to see some friends in the Lyari area.

“The victim was said to be an operative of one of the criminal gangs in Lyari. He was also booked in at least three criminal cases,” added the official.
