COLOMBO, Oct 4: Faisal Iqbal who slammed a fighting unbeaten 78 against Australian in the first Test said that he was looking forward to turn his innings into a maiden hundred and save Pakistan from follow-on.

“I got no instructions and played my natural game and grew in confidence as the innings progressed” he told reporters Friday.

Faisal, nephew of former Pakistan captain and one of the country’s best batsmen, Javed Miandad, arrived at the crease when Pakistan were struggling at 75-4 and took the attack to Australian bowlers with confidence.

“I was not scared against Australian fast bowling and played normally”, Faisal said.

“I have never thought any negative thing and wish to play more and more for Pakistan,” he said.—APP
