This is quite challenging: filming a remake of a film based on a Shakespearean comedy. The reference is to the 1982 classic Angoor made by none other than Gulzar sahib, successfully adapting The Comedy of Errors written by the Bard. Angoor had the legendary Sanjeev Kumar and tastefully funny Deven Verma as protagonists who have their doppelgangers, confusing all four characters in one rib-tickling situation after another.

News is that director Rohit Shetty (known for cotton-candy fluffy Golmaal I, II and II) is trying his hand at Angoor, and has offered Shahrukh Khan to act out the main lead. Playing opposite him is the exceedingly talented and uber attractive Kareena Kapoor (in the part that Mousmi Chatterjee did in the Gulzar version). Casting SRK as modern-day Sanjeev Kumar is a tricky pick, for he is just as excitable as the late Sanjeev Kumar was laidback. This means the casting may backfire. Or might not create any fire at all.
