NAWABSHAH, Oct 3: Two cases have been registered against two candidates and 61 workers of the Peoples the Party Parliamentarians by the Nawabshah police here on Thursday.

The in charge of C-section police post, Saeed Bhutto, lodged an FIR with the A-section police against PPP candidate from NA-213, Dr Azra Pechuho, party candidate from PS-24, Choudhry Tariq Masood, general secretary of the city PPP, Abdul Qayoom Qureshi, and 60 workers.

The police official stated that he received information, while patrolling, that firing had occurred on Bankaram road. He reached there and arrested Ghulam Mustafa.

He further stated that the workers of the PPP candidates forcibly took away Ghulam Mustafa from his custody.

In another development, Pakistan Muslim League-Q activist Sain Bux Chhutto lodged an FIR with the A-section police, alleging that PPP worker Asif Awan opened fire on his party’s candidate from NA-213, Syed Zahid Hussain Shah, at a public meeting, but he escaped unhurt.

The local leaders of the PPP have criticized the registration of “fake” cases against the candidates and workers of their party.

Inayat Ali Rind, former president, PPP, Nawabshah district, Ahsan Brohi, Bilawal Rind and others were speaking at a press conference here.
