KARACHI: Singalone (UC-9) and Lyari Town reached the final of the KESC Lyari Football League after winning their respective semi-final matches at the Shaheed Abdul Rehman Park on Saturday.

Singalone edged out Bihar Colony (UC-7) 1-0 in the first semi-final.

The all-important goal was scored by striker Idrees Rehman in the seventh minute.

But the Man of Match prize was awarded to Singalone's defender Adnan Ashraf for being instrumental in saving many goals.

In the second semi-final, Lyari Town beat Kalakot (UC-10) 1-0.

Striker Munir Ahmed stuck for the winners in the 54th minute and Lyari Town managed to keep the lead till the final whistle.

Munir Ahmed was later also named the Man of the Match.

Former cricketer Iqbal Qasim, the chief guest on the occasion, gave away the prizes to the two best players.

The matches were supervised by Abdul Aziz, Abdul Karim, Dad Rehman, Ansar Javed, Farid Ahmed, Ansar Javed, Shahid Ismail and Jalal Ahmed under Match Commissioner Yaqoob Baloch.

The third-place match between Bihar and Kalakot will be played at the same venue at 3.00pm on Sunday.

The final between Singalone and Lyari Town will be played at the Peoples Sports Complex on Monday.
