PESHAWAR, Oct 3: A man wanted by police for murder was killed in Mohmand Agency when a landmine buried at the entrance to his home blew up, authorities and hospital officials said on Thursday.

The man, Khan Sher, was on the run from police for unspecified murder charges. He had taken shelter in the tribal area of Mohmand agency, some 140 kilometres northwest of Peshawar, officials told AFP.

When he entered his home late on Wednesday, a landmine buried at the entrance exploded, critically injuring him. He died an hour later at hospital.—AFP
